Vintage Silver-plate Presentation Trophy | 1939–1940

An incredible oversized antique presentation trophy dating to 1939–1940. This substantial silverplate loving cup features a dramatic elongated form with tall sweeping handles, applied laurel and ribbon decoration, and its original dark pedestal base.

The front is engraved “Presented by Dutchess County Recreation to D.F. Bowling League 1939–1940”, followed by the names of the winning team members. The aged silverplate has developed a beautifully timeworn finish with tarnish, oxidation, and surface wear throughout, giving it exactly the kind of character you want in an old presentation piece.

And when I say oversized, this one is HUGE. It makes an incredible statement displayed on a console, library table, or tucked into a collection of old paintings and sporting memorabilia. It would also be fantastic filled with branches or left completely empty as a sculptural piece.
